1986 Josephine Red Liqueur Muscat
This handcrafted liqueur has been especially prepared to honour our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Josephine Puglisi (nee Cardillo) pioneer of Ballandean Estate Wines.
In 1927 at the age of 12, Josephine and her sister came to live with their father Salvatore in Australia. It was 28 years before Josephine and her mother were reunited.
In 1929 Salvatore and Josephine moved to Ballandean and purchased the property where the winery is today. Father and daughter worked together for the next 15 years to make a living from the land. At age 26, Josephine married Alfio Puglisi who joined the father and daughter team and together they grew their business and their family.
We salute the courage of a young Sicilian girl born on the true Anzac Day 1915.
We salute the determination of a daughter to succeed in spite of isolation, war and hardship.
We salute the strength of an Australian business woman - a pioneer of our industry.
